Dayton families value people they can count on for years, and that steady relationship is at the heart of our practice.

Dr. Kenneth E. Beard opened his private practice in Cleveland in 1973. His son, Dr. Brian K. Beard, earned his dental degree at the University of Alabama and joined his father in 1993. Today, Dr. Baylor Terrell, Dr. Kenneth Beard’s grandson, carries the family tradition into its third generation.

That family connection shapes the mood inside our office. Many of our patients have seen the same dentist for decades, and our team still greets them by first name when they walk in.

Our front office staff and hygienists keep things relaxed and friendly, and our doctors take the time to answer your questions before recommending anything. Nobody here will pressure you into treatment you do not want or need.

The Center for Cosmetic Dentistry is also the closest Mini Dental Implant Center of America to Dayton, TN, making us a cornerstone for minimally invasive dentistry in East Tennessee.

Dental Care We Provide for Dayton Patients

Most Dayton families want one dental home that can handle a routine checkup today and a bigger repair later. Our Cleveland office offers a wide menu of care under one roof, so you rarely need a referral elsewhere.

General & Preventive Dentistry

Regular cleanings and exams help us catch small problems before they become expensive ones. Each preventive visit includes a careful look at your teeth and gums, an oral cancer screening, and X-rays when due. During your cleaning, we offer a warm paraffin wax hand treatment. On occasion, we might even have fresh-baked cookies for you to enjoy. Many folks tell us these little extras make the dental chair feel much less clinical.

We suggest coming in every six months, and we try to schedule appointments around your drive from Dayton.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Our cosmetic dental care starts with a conversation about what bothers you and what you hope to change. Professional teeth whitening lifts years of coffee and tea stains in a short time. For chips or gaps, thin porcelain veneers cover the front surfaces of your teeth with a natural look. Patients who want to keep more of their natural tooth structure may prefer Lumineers, which are ultra-thin shells that often need little or no enamel reshaping.

Restorative Dentistry

We place tooth-colored fillings that blend with your enamel instead of showing up as dark spots. For infected teeth, we can often avoid extraction with root canal therapy, and our team works hard to keep you comfortable during the appointment. Swollen or bleeding gums call for periodontal care before the infection loosens teeth. When a tooth needs a cap, our CEREC system lets us design and mill same-day crowns in our office. For Dayton patients, that means one trip to Cleveland instead of two.

We can also close a gap left by a lost tooth with a custom dental bridge anchored to the adjacent teeth. We also make full and partial dentures, giving you even more options for tooth replacement.

Dental Implants & Mini Dental Implants

Missing teeth make it harder to enjoy meals and can change your face’s shape over time as your jawbone shrinks. We offer traditional dental implants for patients with enough jawbone to support a full-size post. Some people may not have enough jawbone, while others may want a less involved procedure. In those cases, we recommend mini dental implants, which are a fraction of the size of conventional dental implants. Placing mini implants is minimally invasive and doesn’t require large surgical cuts or stitches. Patients can leave with a completed smile after just one visit.

We can explain whether conventional or mini dental implants may work best for you when we learn more about your smile at your free consultation.

Orthodontics

Adults and teens who want to straighten crooked teeth with a low-key option can use Invisalign clear aligners. For more advanced orthodontic corrections, we offer traditional metal braces. Dr. Brian Beard has advanced training in neuromuscular dentistry, so he also evaluates how your bite and jaw muscles work together when planning treatment.

Emergency Dental Care

When you call us with an urgent problem, like a cracked tooth, broken braces, or a painful toothache, we will do our best to see you the same day, even if you’re a new patient from Dayton. Please call as early as you can, and we will let you know when we can fit you in.

Family and Children’s Dentistry

Juggling separate dental offices for each family member eats up time. We see Dayton patients of all ages, so the whole family can get dental care in one visit. Our team is patient with little ones, and we take time to make first visits fun. Grandparents are welcome too, so the whole family can share one dental home.

Sedation Dentistry

Dental fear keeps many good people out of the chair for years. We offer sedation options that include nitrous oxide and oral sedation in pill form. Our dentists will help you pick the level that fits your procedure and your nerves. Oral sedation can affect your judgment for several hours after treatment, so plan to arrange a ride to and from the appointment if you choose this route.

Additional Services

We also offer other specialized services:

  • A Snap-On Smile is a removable arch that slips over your teeth for a quick cosmetic change without drilling.
  • Chronic headaches and jaw pain may respond to TMJ therapy built on neuromuscular principles.
  • Loud snoring and daytime fatigue can point to a breathing problem, and our oral appliances for sleep apnea may help.
  • Young athletes on Dayton school and league teams can protect their teeth with custom sports mouthguards.

Kind Words From Our Patients

Patients who drive in from outside Cleveland often tell us our team’s care keeps them coming back for decades. Here are some kind words from patients who have chosen us time and time again:

“Very compassionate and welcoming! I have been a patient for 20+ years, and the next generation is proudly carrying on the same high degree of commitment to service as I have come to expect.” – Patty H.

“My visits to your office are always beneficial. Dr. Beard and his staff always make me comfortable, and I always leave better off than when I arrived. Dr. Beard has been taking care of my dental health since about 1998 or 1999. He caters to cowards and stands by his work. I’ve never thought of leaving his care.” – Nancy N.

We’d love for you to join those happy patients who have trusted us with their smiles!

Helping Dayton Patients Afford Dental Care

Cost concerns can make people put off treatment, and we would rather talk about money openly than have you skip the care you need. Our financing options give Dayton families several ways to spread out payments.

We accept CareCredit, a healthcare credit card. It offers promotional financing on qualifying purchases of $200 or more, subject to credit approval, available credit, and the offer terms.

Alphaeon is another healthcare credit option, and Cherry offers a buy-now, pay-later plan with monthly installments. Our front desk team is happy to help you compare plans and apply in our office.

If you would rather pay up front, we offer a 5% courtesy discount when you pay in full at the start of treatment for procedures over $1,000. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards.

We also accept many dental insurance plans in the area. Our staff will call your provider to verify your benefits and, as a courtesy, bill your insurance company. We will give you a clear estimate of your share before treatment starts, so the bill holds no surprises.
